Sexual Trauma Therapy in Ottawa and Ontario

Support for survivors of sexual trauma and sexual experiences that still affect you today.

What happened to you was not your fault.

Sexual trauma can include childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, coercion, unwanted sexual experiences, or experiences that left you feeling unsafe or disconnected from yourself.

Its effects can continue long after the experience itself.

You may struggle with shame, self-blame, trust, boundaries, relationships, or feeling comfortable in your own body.

You don't have to navigate this alone.

I offer trauma-focused psychotherapy for adults and young adults (16+) who are navigating the lasting effects of sexual trauma.

You might be experiencing...

  • Shame or self-blame about what happened

  • Difficulty trusting others or feeling safe

  • Trouble setting or maintaining boundaries

  • Feeling disconnected from your body

  • Anxiety, fear, numbness, or feeling on guard

  • Difficulty with intimacy or relationships

  • Feeling uncomfortable or disconnected during physical touch

  • Changes in sexual desire or difficulty feeling present during intimacy

  • Difficulty communicating your needs

  • Feeling like your past continues to affect your present

You don't need to relate to all of these. Your experiences and responses are uniquely your own.

How we can work together

Therapy can offer a space to make sense of what you've experienced and explore how it may still be affecting you today.

Together, we may work on:

  • Reducing shame and self-blame

  • Building a stronger sense of safety and self-trust

  • Reconnecting with your body

  • Understanding your emotions and reactions

  • Developing and communicating boundaries

  • Feeling safer in relationships and intimacy

  • Exploring the impact of trauma on sexuality

  • Processing experiences that continue to affect you

I integrate EMDR and IFS/parts work, choosing approaches based on your needs, goals, and comfort level.

You don't have to tell me everything

You are always in control of what you choose to share.

Starting therapy does not mean you have to describe what happened in detail. We can begin with what you're experiencing today and work at a pace that feels right for you.

There is no pressure to talk about anything before you're ready.

A space without judgment

Talking about sexual trauma can bring up shame, fear, confusion, or uncertainty about whether what happened “counts.”

You don't have to minimize your experience or have all the answers before starting therapy.

My goal is to provide a warm, compassionate space where you can feel heard, respected, and in control of your own process.
